Actor Larry Hagman, star of the hit shows I Dream of Jeannie and Dallas has died in a Dallas, Texas hospital. He was eighty one. According to a family spokesperson, the family was at his side when he passed and therefore are now asking that their privacy be respected.
Hagman, the son of actress Mary Martin and Benjamin Hagman, a District trump t-shirts Attorney, was born in Fort Worth Texas in 1931. His parents divorced when he was obviously a young boy. After completing military service, Hagman deplorable t shirts started seeking acting jobs, landing several bit parts before being asked to join the cast of I Dream of Jeannie within the 1960’s. That role, Major Tony Nelson made Hagman a household name, allowing him to experience the goofily lovestruck astronaut along with his very own magical genie in a bottle. After that series ended, he landed several guest starring roles on other series. In the 80’s, Hagman joined the cast of Dallas – the demonstrate that he was perhaps the most famous for. His role, JR Ewing was one with the most despised characters of all time, one part lech, one part shrewd businessman and all sorts of despicable weasel. The episode where his can be assassin was revealed was one of the highest rated shows ever. According to trivia experts, the question “who shot JR?” was one of the most discussed questions ever.
Despite being nominated for several awards through the run of the show, Hagman never won.
In 1954, Hagman married Maj Axelsson. The couple have two children, a daughter named Heidi plus a son named Preston. Maj was identified as having Alzheimer’s disease in 2008. Hagman has already established several health scares during his life including a cancer scare that led him for being an anti-smoking crusader, chairing the Great American Smokeout for many years. He famously underwent liver transplant surgery in 1995 after many years of reported heavy drinking. He also admitted with other drug use including LSD and marijuana in his younger years after being shown those things by his famous friends including Jack Nicholson.
It was just recently that Hagman announced publicly that he had been identified as having throat cancer but remained optimistic of his survival chances, stating that it ended up caught early enough. He did appear inside the renewed version of the iconic Dallas show but seemed to be in failing health then. There have been no final plans announced by family members at this time.
